Hayden’s first blog: Coffee nerdery
I had the privileged experience of doing just one day of Brighton coffee festival, it's set up in the grandiose All saints church, the sound of coffee nonsense echoing around the space. BCF is definitely retail focused, we were dishing out the good bean juice to enthusiasts, hobbyists, home baristas and our fellow roasters.
The vibes are buzzin’, the first wave is getting caffeinated and all the traders are acutely aware it's definitely Sunday. It's always good getting in the trenches with the coffee community, just a bunch of wonderful reprobates all wondering why on earth we choose such a weird industry to chuck all our blood sweat and tears into, the whole thing runs on passion and vibes and that's sort of addictive.
That leads me neatly onto Raluca and Radu, two such passionate people. They were doing the rounds and spent some time slurping at our stand, we got to chatting and they told me about the project they’ve been working on, The Coffee Nerdery. They have an ethical marketing company which they want to use to help the coffee industry. The Coffee Nerdery itself is a separate project designed with the sole purpose of helping budding coffee Nerds find what they like and what they don't like.

There are no hidden fees nor do we take a cut from your sales. In short, there is no catch to registering your Roastery with us.
We will always redirect the nerds to your website, where they will complete the purchase - we don't get involved in the transaction and/or experience.
So I don't see the catch, I signed up, they have even de-googled the whole site so no annoying ads, it exists because they want any level of person to get hold of the best coffee, and (obviously im biased) but I think we are some of the best coffee, so it was a no brainer.
If you're a roaster, check them out. It was the easiest thing in the world to set it up. If you're a total Coffee nerd, check them out, the 7 pages of granular info you can niche down will scratch the itch, if you are a total coffee novice, check them out, you can just tell them you like any flavor and they will put something your way.. Either way you're gonna get your hands on some awesome beans.
