Pacman - COLOMBIA
We’re tasting clementines and creme caramel.
Farm: Acevedo, Huila
Varietal: Pacamara
Process: Fully Washed
Altitude: 1,650 metres above sea level
Five years ago, while planning to plant more trees, Silvia Rojas Vargas discovered that her brother-in-law had some pacamara seeds lying around, a gift from a neighbour that had been forgotten. Curious to try them out, she started a nursery planted at the highest point of the farm, 1650 masl. After five years, the plants have shown exceptional cup quality and yield comparable to the Castillo that Silvia had historically grown.

As part of farm management, Silvia alongside her husband Guillermo, maintain ground cover between the coffee trees to capture and store water, prevent soil and nutrient erosion, and enhance the soil's biological life.
This lot marks the first time the couple was able to sell pacamara at twice the local price.
Encouraged by this, they plan to replace some of their Castillo trees with more pacamara in the future, provided the price remains favourable.
